This year a Thompson guitar will be available at Winfield as a choice for the winner of the Flat-Picking competition. This invitation was something that made Preston so proud. We are crafting a Sinker Mahogany Dreadnought with an Adirondack Top and a special inlay. Preston provided a Thompson guitar during the 1980’s for the Finger-Style (1986-87) and Flat-Picking (1989) competitions.
TSM-52– Thompson Electric READY TO PLAY
We have completed several of our TSM – 52 Thompson Electric models and they are ready to be played. We are making a limited run of 52 and there will be several at Carter Vintage Guitars in early summer to try out, as well as, at our shop in Sisters, Oregon.
They are crafted with the utmost care and high-end components. The final product is light-weight, the neck has a satin feel and true vintage profile. We use Lollar Special pickups, which bring a higher output, rounder top end and more mid and low end tones out of our TSM-52.
We use a nitro finish and our color options are natural blonde and vintage blonde.

He recently come on board after 2018 IBMA to play a Thompson D-MA. He has so many talents from being a singer, songwriter and guitar player in CJ and the Night Drivers, hosting Sirius XM’s Bluegrass Junction -True grass, being a humor columnist for Bluegrass Today and the only CURLER we know!
We appreciate his support and look forward to some future videos with him playing his new Thompson.

SHOP UPDATE
The past 7 weeks have been a bit surreal with not having Preston to reach out to, to share words of encouragement and little nuggets of information of things happening in the shop, showing him videos of our artists or just playing him a tune.
We miss him dearly.
We are very proud that we can continue building great sounding guitars under his name. The crew is tight, always communicating and feeling even more like a family after the very sad loss of the person that helped create this team of individuals.
We are grateful for all the support we have from Preston’s wife Julie and daughter Piper, our investors, Preston’s business partner Dan, all the musicians that have reached out, our awesome clients and fabulous dealers!
